My Moken Lite

   Love my new kayak I've not had one Sunday at home since I bought it. My new anchor is not working well but I had just tied it off the back handle. So I need to come up with something better and simple, not an anchor trolley.

Three fishing rods are definitely too many and my new Aird has been getting wet, so that will need a service. I'm learning to use a baitcaster and hope that will be more useful in the future. But my cheap Jarvis Walker rod from K Mart and Shakespeare spin reel are good enough and catch a lot of fish.

Fishing Georges River, Lambeth Street Reserve

What a day! Would it ever stop raining, we paddled towards Revesby Beach but didn't make it there. Lots of fishing to do and didn't want to travel too far just in case the wind came up. That would mean a sad paddle home and risk of hypothermia. 

I caught a nice bream in the rain and it was the only fish for the day.

My best fish for today

I caught about four, all too small on prawns on Port Hacking. Brett caught a huge flathead.

My new kayak

This is my new Moken 10 Lite, my partner is paddling at Swallow Rock, Grays Point, its maiden voyage. Quite physical to control but I can get it up to speed. Mainly for fishing and adventures on Port Hacking and the Georges River, it should serve me well. He has a Hoby, the fat man's kayak, one who earns too much money, loves gadgets and gets cranky when they get wet. 

Most Hoby owners get soaked, the huge gap created to house the foot paddle system just leaks gallons of water into the cockpit area. For a $2200 plus kayak its finish is rough and comes with a seat that looks about $30.

Have just been deployed and hopefully my giant kale will survive the onslaught of hungry loopers.

My new fireplace

Great for a small backyard. The old brazier was scary , a slight breeze would scatter ashes and embers in all directions.

My only fish

A tiny flathead fingerling. The ocean was a whirpool and my sinkers were being swept everywhere.

My new verge vege box.

Tomato, chilli, capsicum, chard, kale, celery, parsley and Sweet Alice as companion planting to attract pollinators and green lace bug that eat other bugs.

Bit overshadowed but doing OK.

My new fishing combo

Shimano Saragosa 4000 reel and Catana rod. Such a great fishing rod and I caught my first flathead in weeks. As good as my Daiwa Aird which I love as well.
